I think it might have freaked me out a little. Hope your mom had a nice camping trip!Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15791185232391134319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3970777878498844654.post-72469302869306344842009-07-18T00:33:07.185-07:002009-07-18T00:33:07.185-07:00Whoa!! I really like the idea that they are a spirit - it's an appropriate way to think of them when you hear their booming call in the woods!

Warren - They sure do, and you're right, it's amazingly loud!Monikahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10442975942250078450noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3970777878498844654.post-33909134798983103422009-07-14T11:50:43.434-07:002009-07-14T11:50:43.434-07:00Monika,

I didn't know that.

It is starting to be a regular delight when I am quiet and in the wood, that a Pileated pair will swoop in, often laughing. You would think that such a large bird with that bold cap would be easy to snatch a photo of. It seems as if they plan to fuzz up a shot somehow, as if they are spirit. Of all the times I have had camera in hand when they came into view, few photos of mine do them justice. Yours are great, thanks for sharing.Rainsonghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16004524351613975443noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3970777878498844654.post-77029522908784133682009-07-14T04:31:43.196-07:002009-07-14T04:31:43.196-07:00What fun, and a just reward for helping set up cam...What fun, and a just reward for helping set up camp.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
